Privacy policy
The short version: only what is needed to sell you a PDF and get it to you, nothing sold on, and no advertising trackers anywhere on this site.
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Who is responsible
White Lotus Strategies, LLC, d/b/a The Parent Edge publishes The Parent Edge and decides what happens to the information described here. Postal address: 1942 Broadway Ste 314C, Boulder, CO 80302. Email: [email protected].
What is collected
- Your email address, entered at checkout, because a download link has to reach you somewhere.
- Order records: which guide, when, how much, and the payment reference. Your receipt also shows the card brand and its last four digits.
- Support messages you send, and the replies to them.
- Page analytics: which page was viewed, what referred the visit, and a country-level location. This is collected first-party and without cookies. No persistent identifier is set, nothing follows you to another site, and there is no way to tie a page view back to a person.
- Your email address a second time, held separately, if you choose to join the mailing list.
The mailing list is double opt-in: you enter an address, you confirm it by clicking a link in an email sent to that address, and nothing else is sent until you do. Every message carries an unsubscribe link.
What is never collected
Card numbers never touch our servers. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe: the card fields on the checkout page are hosted by Stripe, and what comes back to us is a payment reference and the last four digits printed on your receipt. Full card details are never seen, transmitted, or stored here.
There is no advertising pixel, no third-party analytics script, no session recorder, and no data broker on this site. Nothing here builds a profile of you.
Why it is collected
- To perform the contract: taking payment, delivering the file, keeping your download working, and answering your questions.
- To meet legal obligations: tax and accounting records have to be kept for a set number of years.
- For legitimate interests: preventing fraudulent orders, keeping the site working, and counting page views in aggregate so it is clear which guides people are looking for.
- With your consent: the mailing list, and only the mailing list. You can withdraw it at any time.
Who processes it
A small number of service providers handle information on our behalf, each only for the job named:
- Stripe: payment processing, receipts, and fraud prevention.
- Resend: transactional email, including your download link, receipt, and sign-in links.
- Supabase: the database of orders and entitlements, and the private storage that holds the guide files.
- Railway: application hosting, where the site itself runs.
- Cloudflare: domain name service and the network the site is served through.
Each provider is bound by its own data processing terms and may use your information only to provide that service. Nobody else receives it. Information is never sold, rented, or traded, and it is never handed to advertisers or data brokers. Under California law this site neither sells nor shares personal information, and it has not done so in the past twelve months.
Where it is processed
These providers are based in the United States and process data there. For transfers out of the UK, EU, and EEA they rely on the standard contractual clauses published in their own data processing agreements.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask for any of the following:
- A copy of the information held about you, and an explanation of what it is used for.
- A correction, if something is wrong.
- Deletion of your information.
- A portable copy, in a machine-readable format.
- An end to marketing email, at any time, with no effect on your purchases.
If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, these are your rights under the GDPR, together with the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. If you are in California, these are your rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, including the right not to be treated differently for using them. Nobody is ever charged, downgraded, or refused service for making a request.
To exercise any of them, email [email protected], ideally from the address on your order. Requests are answered within 30 days. If a deletion request arrives, everything is deleted except the order and payment records that tax law requires be kept, and those are locked down to that purpose alone.
How long things are kept
- Order and payment records: seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
- Download entitlements: for as long as your access is live, so you can download a guide again.
- Support email: two years, then deleted.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so you are not added again by mistake.
- Analytics: aggregate counts only, with nothing personal in them to expire.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, and only when you sign in to your library. There are no advertising or third-party analytics cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner. The detail is on the cookies page.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Guide files sit in private storage and are reachable only through a signed link tied to your purchase. Sign-in links are single-use and short-lived, and the tokens behind them are stored hashed, never in the clear. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever affected your information you would be told promptly and plainly.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and information is not knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything material will be announced on the site rather than slipped in quietly.
