Terms of sale and use

These terms are an agreement between you and White Lotus Strategies, LLC, d/b/a The Parent Edge, which publishes The Parent Edge at theparentedgeguides.com. Buying a guide, or using this site, means you accept them. If you do not, please do not buy.

Every product sold here is a digital guide delivered as a PDF file. Nothing physical ships. The price shown at checkout is the whole price: there is no subscription, no membership, and no recurring charge of any kind. Prices are in US dollars.

When your payment clears you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the guide you bought, for as long as you want it. Under that license you may:

• Read the guide on any device you own.
• Print copies for yourself and for the people in your household.
• Fill in the letters, requests, and worksheets and send them to your school or district. The letters you fill in and send are yours to send.
• Write in your copy, work through it, and keep it indefinitely.
• Quote a short passage elsewhere, with credit to The Parent Edge.

• Sharing, reselling, renting, sublicensing, or giving away a guide file, or any meaningful part of it.
• Uploading it to a website, file-sharing service, shared cloud folder, group chat, parent group, or course platform where other people can reach it.
• Reproducing substantial parts of the text, templates, or checklists in your own products, in client work, or in training materials.
• Removing copyright notices, or presenting the content as your own.
• Using the guides, in whole or in part, as training data for a machine learning model.

Every guide is copyrighted. Sharing a passage with credit is fine, sharing the file is not. If you want to use a guide with a parent group, a class, or the families you work with, write and ask: reasonable requests are usually granted.

Payment is taken by Stripe. Delivery is immediate and digital: a download link appears on the confirmation screen and is emailed to the address you enter at checkout. It is your responsibility to enter an address that works. If the email does not arrive, check the spam folder and then write to us and we will resend it.

Download links can expire or be reissued for security reasons. Access to a guide you have paid for is not taken away because a link aged out: ask, and you get a new one.

Every purchase carries a 30-day money-back guarantee. The full policy is set out on the refund policy page and forms part of these terms. This guarantee is offered voluntarily and sits on top of whatever rights the law where you live already gives you.

All text, layout, typography, illustrations, worksheets, templates, checklists, and The Parent Edge name, wordmark, and monogram are owned by White Lotus Strategies, LLC, d/b/a The Parent Edge and protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing on this site transfers ownership of anything; you are buying a license to read and use a guide, not the guide itself.

Statutes, regulations, agency forms, and other government documents quoted or cited inside a guide remain in the public domain. The selection, explanation, structure, and presentation around them do not.

The guides explain how the special education process generally works under federal law, chiefly the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and what options a parent has at each step. That is general educational information. It is not legal advice, and it is not advice about your individual child.

Buying a guide, reading this site, or writing to us creates no attorney-client relationship and no advocate relationship. Nobody here acts as your attorney, your advocate, or your representative in any matter, and nothing published here is written around the facts of one family.

The letters, requests, and worksheets in the guides are fill-in forms you complete yourself. What you write in them, whether you send them, and when you send them are your decisions.

Total liability for any claim connected to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase. Some jurisdictions do not allow limits like these, in which case they apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits.

These terms are governed by the laws of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled by email goes to the state or federal courts sitting in Colorado, and both sides consent to that. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
