The Dispute Collection

The notice, the complaint, and the two routes that need a referee

A written no from the school is where these three guides begin. The first decodes the prior written notice that records the decision and usually dates the dispute. The second is the route a parent files alone, in writing, with the State, decided without a hearing. The third is the pair of routes that need a mediator or a hearing officer: what mediation looks like in the room, what a due process complaint must contain, who sits in the resolution meeting, and what the hearing decides. Each one names the regulation it rests on in the sentence where you read it, and none of them treats the school as an opponent.
